Together We Gather
BID Days is a week long community activation series presented by Historic King Drive BID #8 celebrating connection, culture, creativity, and collaboration throughout the corridor. Designed to bring residents, businesses, artists, entrepreneurs, and visitors together, BID Days highlights the energy and diversity of Bronzeville through approachable community centered programming across multiple spaces and experiences.
As part of this year’s Together We Carry initiative, BID Days reflects the importance of gathering intentionally, supporting local businesses, uplifting creative voices, and strengthening relationships throughout the district.
This year’s programming includes community legacy business appreciation, networking opportunities, creative dialogue, neighborhood bike rides, local coffee activations, karaoke socials, and the return of the Bronzeville Farmers Market.
2026 ACTIVATIONS
KING DREAM RIDE
The King Dream Ride is a community bike ride activation presented as part of BID Days 2026, celebrating movement, wellness, neighborhood connection, and exploration throughout Historic King Drive and Bronzeville.
Rooted in the spirit of collective movement and visibility, the ride brings together cyclists, residents, community organizations, and supporters for a guided experience throughout the corridor highlighting local landmarks, businesses, culture, and public spaces. Designed to be approachable and community focused, the ride encourages participants of all experience levels to engage with the neighborhood in an active and meaningful way.
The 2026 ride continues building upon the original Tour De MLK / Dream Ride initiative created to connect cycling, storytelling, health, and cultural engagement throughout Milwaukee’s historic King Drive corridor.
Participants can expect:
A guided community paced bike ride
Stops highlighting businesses, landmarks, and community spaces
Opportunities for networking and connection
Wellness and movement centered engagement
A social hour following the ride
CREATIVE CONVo + KARAOKE
Creative Conversation + Karaoke is a community centered gathering presented during BID Days 2026 that brings together artists, creatives, entrepreneurs, residents, and community members for an evening of dialogue, networking, music, and expression.
The evening begins with an open conversation focused on Historic King Drive BID #8’s creative initiatives, including this year’s Bronzeville Art Walk, artist opportunities, public art activations, and future cultural programming throughout the corridor. The goal is to create an approachable space for feedback, collaboration, and idea sharing directly with the creative community helping shape the future of Bronzeville.
Following the conversation, the event transitions into a relaxed karaoke and social hour experience at Summer of 85, encouraging continued connection, celebration, and community gathering in a fun and welcoming environment.
Coffee on king
Coffee on King is a simple way to support local businesses while exploring the Historic King Drive corridor during BID Days 2026.
On Friday, June 12, community members are invited to visit participating coffee shops along King Drive and enjoy one complimentary coffee beverage (up to 12 oz.) while supplies last. Whether you're starting your morning, meeting a friend, working remotely, or simply discovering a new favorite spot, Coffee on King encourages residents and visitors to spend time supporting the small businesses that help make the corridor vibrant year round.
Participating locations include Pilcrow Coffee & Confectionately Yours.
Participants can expect:
One complimentary coffee beverage (up to 12 oz.) at participating locations
Opportunities to explore local businesses along the corridor
Casual community connection throughout the morning
A chance to discover and support neighborhood coffee shops
One free beverage per customer while supplies last. Participating locations and availability may vary.
BRONZEVILLE FARMERS MARKET
The Bronzeville Farmers Market returns during BID Days 2026 as a neighborhood gathering centered on health, local commerce, fresh food, and community connection in the heart of Historic King Drive.
Presented in partnership with 41Floral, the market brings together local vendors, growers, small businesses, community organizations, and residents for a welcoming outdoor experience celebrating the culture and energy of Bronzeville. Designed to support both wellness and economic visibility throughout the corridor, the market creates opportunities for visitors to shop local, connect with neighbors, and engage with community resources in an approachable and family friendly environment.
